CHAP. 60.— An Act to establish two additional land offices in the State of Montana.April 1, 1890. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,Public lands.Missoula and Judith land districts, Montana, established.Missoula land dis trict; boundaries. That all that portion of the State of Montana hounded and described as follows: Commencing at a point on the southern boundary of the State where the line between ranges fourteen and fifteen west of the Montana principal meridian intersects said boundary, and running north along said in to the northern boundary line of the State; thence with said boundary line to the northwest corner of the State; thence south wardly along the boundary line between Montana and Idaho, to the place of beginning, be, and the same is hereby, constituted a new land district, to be called Missoula land district of the State of Montana, and the land office for said district shall be located at the townLand office at Missoula. of Missoula.
Sec. 2. That all that portion of the State of Montana commencingJudith laud district; boundaries. at that point on the first standard parallel north, where the range line between townships twenty-seven and twenty-eight east of the principal meridian intersects the same; thence running north along said range line to the southern bank of the Missouri River; thence westerly along said river to the point where the range line between ranges twelve and thirteen east of the principal meridian intersects said river; thence south along said range line, between ranges twelve and thirteen east, to the first standard parallel north, and thence 34FIFTY-FIRST CONGRESS.
Sess. I. Chs. 60-63. 1890. east along said standard parallel to the place of beginning, be, and the same is hereby, constituted a new land district, to be called the Land office at Lewistown.*Post*, p. 677.Registers and receivers to be appointed.Judith land district, in the State of Montana, and the land office for said district shall be located at the town of Lewiston. Sec. 3. That the President, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, is hereby authorized to appoint registers and receivers for such land districts, who shall discharge like and similar duties and receive the same amount of compensation as other officers discharging like duties in the other land offices of said State.
