CHAP. 23.— An act to authorize the First National Bank of Fort Benton, Montana, to change its location and name.December 18, 1890. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,“First National Bank of Fort Benton,” Mont., may change name and location to “Northwest era national Bank of Great Falls,” Mont. That the First National Bank of Fort Benton, now located in the city of Fort Benton and State of Montana, is hereby authorized to change its location FIFTY-FIRST CONGRESS.
Sess. II. Chs. 23, 25. 1891.691 to the city of Great Falls, in said State. Whenever the stockholders. representing three-fourths of the capital of said bank, at a meeting called for that purpose, determine to make such change, the president and cashier shall execute a certificate under the corporate sealCertificate to be filed. of the bank, specifying such determination, and shall cause the same to be filed in the office of the Comptroller of the Currency, and thereupon such change of location shall be effected and the operationsChange of location. of discount and deposit of said bank shall be carried on in the city of Great Falls.
Sec.2. That nothing in this act contained shall be so construedLiabilities, etc., not affected. as in any manner to release the said bank from any liability or affect any action or proceeding in law in which the said bank may be a party or interested. And when such change shall have been determinedPublication of notice of change. upon as aforesaid, notice thereof and of such change shall be published in two weekly papers in the city of Fort Benton not less than four weeks. Sec.3.
That whenever the location of said bank shall have beenChange of name. changed from the city of Fort Benton to the city of Great Falls in accordance with the first section of this act, its name shall be changed to The Northwestern National Bank of Great Falls, if the board of directors of said bank shall accept ,the new name by resolution ofResolution of acceptance to be filed. the board and cause a copy of such resolution, duly authenticated, to be filed with the Comptroller of the Currency.
Sec.4. That all the debts, demands, liabilities, rights, privileges,Succession to debts, rights, etc. and powers of the First National Bank of Fort Benton shall devolve upon The Northwestern National Bank of Great Falls whenever such change of name is effected. Approved, December 18, 1890.
