CHAP. 865.— An Act for the relief of Thomas W. Lord.August 11, 1888. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,Thomas W. Lord.May be appointed captain on retired-list of the Army. That the President of the United States be, and is hereby, authorized to nominate, and by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, to appoint first Lieutenant Thomas W. Lord, United States Army, retired, a captain on the retired-list of the Army, with the retired pay of that grade from the date of such appointment.
Received by the President July 31, 1888. [Note by the Department of State.—The foregoing act having been presented to the President of the United States for his approval, and not having been returned by him to the house of Congress in which it originated within the time prescribed by the Constitution of the United States, has become a law without his approval.]
