CHAP. 311.— An Act for the relief of Edward Fitzgerald.May 24, 1888. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,Edward Fitzgerald.Quartermaster-General to examine claim of. That the Quartermaster-General of the United States is hereby authorized and directed to examine the claim of the Right Reverend Edward Fitzgerald. Bishop of Little Rock, trustee of the Catholic Church in Arkansas, for timber and fuel belonging to said Church alleged to have been taken by the United States or the armies thereof, at or near Fort Smith in the State of Arkansas, during the war of the rebellion; and he may consider the evidence heretofore taken on said claim, so far as applicable before the Commissioners of Claims and such other legal evidence as may be adduced before him in behalf of said trustee or in behalf of the United States, and shall report the facts to Congress, to be considered with other claims reported by the Quartermaster-General.
