CHAP. 107.— An Act authorizing the appointment of James S. Jouett to a first lieutenancy of cavalry in the United States Army.April 16, 1888. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,James S. Jouett.May be appointed lieutenant of cavalry. That the President be, and is hereby, authorized to nominate, and by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, to appoint James S. Jouett. late a first lieutenant of cavalry in the Army of the United States, to the position of first lieutenant of cavalry, of the same grade and rank held by him April thirtieth, eighteen hundred and eighty-five, the FIFTIETH CONGRESS.
Sess. I. Chs. 107– 109, 121. 1888.85 list of first lieutenants of the cavalry arm of the service being increased to that extent until a vacancy shall occur, and all laws and parts of laws in conflict herewith are suspended for this purpose only: *Provided*, That said Jouett shall receive no pay or allowances of any*Proviso*.Pay. kind for the period between the date of his dismissal and date of his appointment under the provision of this bill. Approved, April 16, 1888.
