CHAP. 842.— An Act to provide for the appointment and compensation of a district judge for the southern district of Alabama.August 2, 1886. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,Alabama. That there shall be appointed by the President of the United States, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, a districtDistrict judge for southern district. judge for the southern judicial district of the State of Alabama; and that said judge shall be entitled to receive a yearly salary of three thousand five hundred dollars, payable quarterly.
Sec. 2. That the jurisdiction of the present district judge for the several districts of Alabama, and his successors,Jurisdiction of present district judge. shall hereafter be confined to the northern and middle districts of said State. Approved, August 2, 1886.
