CHAP. 46.— An act for the relief of David W. Jones.Apr. 5, 1886. Whereas, the United States pension agent at Washington, DistrictPreamble. of Columbia, August twenty-third, eighteen hundred and eighty, issued a check, numbered sixty-three thousand six hundred and thirty-two, drawn on the Treasury of the United States, in favor of David W. Jones, a pensioner residing at Hagerstown, Maryland, for one thousand five hundred and forty-nine dollars and thirty-three cents, in payment of pension then due said David W.
Jones; and Whereas, said check was lost while being transmitted by mail in course of collection between the National Park Bank of New York and the National Metropolitan Bank of Washington, District of Columbia: Therefore, *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,David W. Jones.Duplicate pension check to. That the pension agent at Washington, District of Columbia be, and is hereby, instructed to issue duplicate check numbered sixty-three thousand six hundred and thirty-two, for one thousand five hundred and forty-nine dollars and thirty-three cents, in favor of David W.
Jones, for one lost in the mail on the thirty-first day of August, eighteen hundred and eighty: *Provided*, That said*Proviso*. David W. Jones, shall first execute a bond, with good and sufficient sureties, to be approved by the Secretary of the Treasury, to hold the United States harmless against the double payment of said check.
