CHAP. 353.— An Act to repeal certain sections of the Revised Statutes of the United States relating to the appointment of civil officers.Mar. 3, 1887. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,Tenure of office.Repeal of provisions relating to.[R. S., secs. 1767–1772. pp. 314, 315](/us/rs/t/s1767–1772/pp314/315). That sections seventeen hundred and sixty-seven, seventeen hundred and sixty-eight, seventeen hundred and sixty-nine, seventeen hundred and seventy, seventeen hundred and seventy-one, and seventeen hundred and seventy-two of the Revised Statutes of the United States are hereby repealed.
Sec. 2. This repeal shall not affect any officer heretofore suspendedNot to affect present suspensions, etc. under the provisions of said sections, or any designation, nomination, or appointment heretofore made by virtue of the provisions thereof. Approved, March 3, 1887.
