CHAP. 52.— An Act to authorize the purchase of additional grounds for the United States court house and post office building at Springfield, Illinois.Feb. 10, 1885. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,Springfield, Ill.Secretary of the Treasury authorized to purchase ground. That, the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized to purchase the ground adjoining the United States courthouse and post-office building in the city of Springfield, in the State of Illinois, bounded on the north by Monroe street, on the east by Seventh street, on the west by Sixth street, and *Proviso*.Title.on the south by the alley in the middle of the block: *Provided*, That said additional ground can be purchased, and a good and valid title secured to the United States, for not exceeding twenty six thousand dollars.
And there is hereby appropriated for this purpose, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of twenty- sixAppropriation. thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary. The Secretary is authorized to cause the buildings now on said ground to be removed, and the lot inclosed and improved; and for this purpose he may use the proceeds derived from the sale of the buildings, and in addition the sum of one thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be Appropriation for buildings to be removed.necessary, which sum is hereby appropriated out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated.
