CHAP. 318.— An Act authorizing the President of the United States to appoint one passed assistant engineer, now on the retired-list of the Navy, a chief engineer on the retired-list of the Navy.March 3, 1885. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,President authorized to promote one passed assistant engineer on the retired-list of the Navy. That the President of the United States be, and is hereby, authorized to nominate and, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, to appoint one passed assistant engineer, now on the retired-list of the Navy, a chief engineer on the retired-list of the Navy, with the highest retired pay of that grade.
