CHAP. 394.— An Act granting the right of way to the Arizona Southern Railroad Company through the Papago Indian Reservation, in Arizona.August 5, 1882. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,Right of way to Arizona Southern Railroad Company through Papago Indian Reservation, Arizona. That a right of way not exceeding two hundred feet in width through the Papago Indian Reservation, in the Territory of Arizona, shall be, and is hereby, granted to the Arizona Southern Railroad Company, a corporation duly organized under the laws of the Territory of Arizona, according to the plans of route and survey of the said company now on file in the Department of the Interior, which said*Proviso.* plans of route and survey have been approved by the Secretary of the Interior, except as to that portion running through said reservation: *Provided*, That the consent of the Indians occupying said reservation be first obtained, and such compensation as may be fixed by the Secretary of the Interior be paid to him by the said railroad Company, to be expended by him for the benefit of the said Indians.
Sec. 2. That whenever said right of way shall cease to be used for the purposes of the said railroad company the same shall revert to the United States. Approved, August 5, 1882.
