CHAP. 393.— An Act relating to the registration of trademarks.August 5, 1882. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,Registration of trademarks. That nothing contained in the law entitled “An act to authorize the registration of trademarks and 299 FORTY-SEVENTH CONGRESS. Sess. I. Ch. 393–397. 1882. protect the same,” approved March third, eighteen hundred and eighty-one,21 Stat, 502. shall prevent the registry of any lawful trademark rightfully used by the applicant in foreign commerce or commerce with Indian tribes at the time of the passage of said act. Approved, August 5, 1882.
