CHAP. 135.— An act to fix the salary of the Collector of Customs of the District of Chicago, Illinois Mar. 3, 1883. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That from and after the thirtieth day of June, eighteenSalary of collector of customs of the district of Chicago. hundred and eighty-two, the salary of the Collector of Customs of the District of Chicago, Illinois, shall be seven thousand dollars per annum, and the same shall be in place of all salary, commissions, fees, and charges now allowed by law as compensation of that officer : *Provided,* That all fees and emoluments now received by*Proviso*. the said collector and applied to his compensation under the provisions of existing law shall from and after the thirtieth day of June eighteen hundred and eighty two, be accounted for and paid into the Treasury of the United States.
