CHAP. 8.— An act authorizing the donation of twenty condemned bronze cannon to aid in the erection of a monument to the memory of General George A. Custer, at tile Military Academy at West Point. Dec. 21, 1878. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That the Secretary of War be,Geo. A. Custer.Cannon for monument. and he hereby is, authorized and directed to deliver to the commandant of the United States Military Academy twenty condemned bronze cannon, if the same can be spared without detriment to the public service to be disposed of by him as he may see proper for the purpose of aiding in the erection of a monument to the memory of General George A.
