CHAP. 67.— AN ACT to provide for the erection of a public building in the City of Kansas in the State of Missouri.April 29, 1878. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,Public building at Kansas City, Mo. That-the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he hereby is, authorized and directed to purchase a site for, and cause to be erected d suitable building, with fireproof vault extending to each story for the accommodation of the post-office, custom bouse, bonded warehouse, internal revenue offices and other gov-.eminent offices at the city of Kansas in the State of Missouri.
TheLimit of costs. site, and building thereon when completed upon plans and specifications to be previously made and approved by the Secretary of the Treasury shall not-exceed the cost of two hundred thousand dollars: *Provided *Conditions of appropriation.that no money to be appropriated for this purpose shall be available until a valid title to the site of said building shall be vested in theUnited States, and until the State of Missouri shall cede to the United States exclusive jurisdiction over the same, during the time the United States shall be or remain the owner thereof, for all purposes except the administration of the criminal laws of said State, and the service of any civil processes therein.
Sec. 2. That the sum of one hundred thousand dollars be, and theAppropriation. same is hereby, appropriated, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to be used and expended toward the construction of said building. Approved, April 29, 1878.
