CHAP. 50.— AN ACT for the relief of John A. Darling.April 8, 1878. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,John. A. Darling restored to Army. That the President of the United States be, and he is hereby, authorized to nominate and by and with the advice and consent of the Senate appoint John A. Darling, late captain Second Artillery, a captain of artillery in the Army of the United States, with his former rank and date of commission; and that he, the said John A.
Darling, shall be assigned to the first vacancy of his grade occurring in the artillery arm of the service: *Provided*, That said John A. *Proviso.*Darling shall receive no further pay for the time, he was out of service, so that he shall only receive pay from the date of appointment under this act. Approved, April 8, 1878.
