CHAP. 297.— An Act granting a pension to James Shields.June 18, 1878. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,J. Shields.Pension to. That the Secretary of the Interior be, and be is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension-roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension-laws, the name of James Shields, late a brigadier-general of the United States Volunteers, at the rate of one hundred dollars per month; said pension to be in lieu of that which he now receives. Approved, June 18, 1878.
