CHAP. 267.— AN ACT relative to examinations for promotions in the Navy.June 18, 1878. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*,Examinations for promotion in Navy.Facts once examined not included. That hereafter in the examination of officers in the Navy for promotion no fact which occurred prior to the last examination of the candidate whereby he was promoted, which has been enquired into and decided upon, shall be again enquired into, but such previous examination, if approved, shall be conclusive, unless such fact continuing shows the unfitness of the officer to perform all his duties at sea. 166 FORTY-FIFTH CONGRESS.
