Chap. LVI.— An Act *making an appropriation for alterations and repairs in the Capitol.* March 3, 1813. [Obsolete.] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Unitec States of America in Congress assembled,* Specific appropriations. That a sum not exceeding five thousand dollars shall be, and the same is hereby appropriated, to be applied under the direction of the President of the United States, in Repairs of the chamber of the house of representatives.such repairs or alterations in the chamber of the House of Representatives as may be necessary for their accommodation in their future sessions, having in view as well the increased number of the members, a: the better lighting, ventilating, and warming the chamber; which sun shall be paid out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated Sec. 2. *And be it further enacted,* That five hundred dollars be appropriatedRepairs of the roof of the capitol. to repair the roof of the capitol, to be paid out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated.
