Chap. CXX.— An Act *authorizing the President of the United States to lease, for a term of years, any part of the reservations of public ground in the City of Washington.* July 5, 1812. [Obsolete.] *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, * President to take possession of the public grounds and lease the same. That the President of the United States be, and he is hereby authorized to take possession of the whole of the reservations of public grounds in the city of Washington, and lease them out for a term not exceeding ten years, on such terms and conditions as in his judgment may best effect the improvement of the said grounds, for public walks, botanic gardens, or other public purposes.
