CHAP. XXV.— An Act amending an Act to reduce internal Taxes, and for other Purposes, approved July fourteenth, eighteen hundred and seventy.April 20, 1871. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* ThatBonded merchandise transported by carriers by rail, may be transferred from car to car when the gauges of connecting railroads differ, under, &c.1870, ch. 255, § 32.Vol. xvi. p. 271. the thirty-second section of said act is hereby amended by adding to the last clause thereof as follows: *Provided,* That in case of difference in width of gauges of connecting railroads, the goods may be immediately transferred from one car to another under the personal supervision of an inspector, and such rules and regulations as the Secretary of the Treasury may prescribe.
