CHAP. CCLXI.— An Act for the Creation of a Court for the Adjudication and Disposition of certain Moneys received into the Treasury under an Award made by the Tribunal of Arbitration constituted by Virtue of the first Article of the Treaty concluded at Washington the eighth of May, anno Domini eighteen hundred and seventy-one, between the United States of America and the Queen of Great Britain.March 3, 1873. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That*Post,* p. 863.The money paid to the United States by Great Britain awarded by the tribunal at’ Geneva, how to be used, &c. immediately upon the payment of the sum of money awarded to the United States by the tribunal of arbitration at Geneva to he paid by the government of Great Britain the same shall be paid into the treasury and used to redeem, so far as it may the public debt of the United States.
And the amount equal to the debt so redeemed shall be invested in the five per cent, registered bonds of the United States to be held subject to the future disposition of Congress. Approved, March 3, 1873.
