CHAP. XL.— An Act for the Relief of the Sureties of Israel T. Canby, late Receiver of public Moneys at Crawfordsville, Indiana.March 31, 1870. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That the sureties of Israel T.632FORTY-FIRST CONGRESS. Sess. II. Ch. 40, 41, 42, 43, 44. 1870. Canby, late receiver of public moneys at the land office at Crawfordsville,Sureties of Israel T. Canby released from liability. Indiana, be, and they are hereby, released from all liability arising from any defalcation, omission, or misconduct of the said Israel T.
Canby, as such receiver, and the proper officers of the Treasury Department be, and they are hereby, authorized and directed to dismiss any and all suitsActions to be dismissed. and actions that may have been instituted against said sureties, and to enter the proper discharge on the books of the department.
