CHAP. XCVII.— An Act making an Appropriation to satisfy a Judgment obtained against Grenville M. Dodge, late an Officer of the United States, and others, for Acts done by them in the Line of their Duty.May 6, 1870. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That the sum of five thousandAppropriation to satisfy judgment against Grenville M. Dodge and others. dollars, or as much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated, out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, to enable the Secretary of War to satisfy a judgment obtained against Grenville M.
Dodge, late an officer of the United States, and others, for acts done by them in the line of their duty, under orders from their superior officers, and to defray the costs of defending the suits at law in which such judgment was recovered. Approved, May 6, 1870.
