CHAP. CXLV.— An Act for the Relief of Rebecca J. Sheppard, of Philadelphia.March 3, 1871. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That the Secretary of theNew bond to be issued to Rebecca J. Sheppard. Treasury be, and is hereby, authorized to issue a new bond for one hundred dollars, with coupons for interest falling due after May one, eighteen hundred and sixty-five, to Rebecca J. Sheppard, of Philadelphia, in the place of a coupon bond for a like amount, number 29,697, fourth series,1862, ch. 33.Vol. xii. p. 345. loan of February twenty-five, eighteen hundred and sixty-*four* [two], the same having been destroyed by fire: *Provided,* That before such duplicateProviso. bond shall issue, satisfactory security shall be given to protect the government against the presentation of the original and its coupons.
