CHAP. CCCXII.— An Act for the Relief of Vassar College.July 15, 1870. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That upon the devises and bequestsLegacy. &c. tax remitted to Vassar College. made to Vassar College by the last will and testament of Matthew Vassar, deceased, of Poughkeepsie, Dutchess county, in the State of New York, bearing date the third day of February, eighteen hundred and sixty-eight, there shall neither be assessed nor collected any tax as for a legacy or succession, and the sum, if already assessed, shall be, and is hereby, remitted and released.
