CHAP. V.— An Act *to provide for the Exemption of Cotton from internal Tax.*Feb. 3, 1868. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, Cotton exempt from internal tax after, &c.That all cotton grown in the United States after the year eighteen hundred and sixty-seven shall be exempt from internal tax; and cotton imported from foreign countries on imported, to be free of duty, after, &c.and after November first, eighteen hundred and sixty-eight, shall be exempt from duty. Approved, February 3, 1868.
