CHAP. CLVI.— An Act for the Relief of Thomas W. Ward, late Collector of Customs, District of Corpus Christi, Texas.July 13, 1868. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That the proper accountingAccounts of Thomas W. Ward to be settled. officers of the treasury be, and they are hereby, authorized and directed to audit and settle the accounts of Thomas W. Ward, late collector of customs for the district of Corpus Christi, Texas, from March fifth, eighteen hundred and sixty-seven, to July thirty-first, eighteen hundred and sixty-seven, and allow him the same compensation and emoluments as if he had been legally collector of customs for said district for said period; and that the deputy-collector appointed by said Thomas W.383FORTIETH CONGRESS.
Sess. II. Ch. 156, 157, 158, 159, 160. 1868. Ward, on the seventh day of March, eighteen hundred and sixty-seven,Accounts of deputy-collector at Corpus Christi to be settled. be recognized as the legal deputy-collector of said district, and the said accounting officers are authorized to settle the accounts of the said deputy in the same manner as if he had been legally appointed and all his acts were legal.
