Chap. XLVII.— An Act for the Relief of James Smith.February 20, 1861. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That the Secretary of the InteriorJames Smith to have pension of $8 a month from March 4, 1858, for life. be, and he is hereby, authorized and required to place the name of James Smith, now of the city of Washington, late a soldier in the war with Mexico, and on the frontiers of Texas, on the invalid pension roll, at the rate of eight dollars a month, to commence on the fourth day of March, eighteen hundred and fifty-eight, and to continue during his lifetime. Approved, February 20, 1861.
