VII.— An Act for the Relief of the Owner of the British Ship “Perthshire.”January 17, 1862. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That there be paid, out of any$1000 to be paid to owner of British ship Perthshire. money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to the order of the proper functionary of Her Britannic Majesty’s government, the sum of one thousand dollars, in full compensation to the owner of the British ship “Perthshire” in consequence of her detention by the United States steamer “Massachusetts,” in June last, under the impression that she had unlawfully evaded the blockade of the port of Mobile.
