Chap. L.— An Act for the Relief of Samuel S. Green.February 23, 1861. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That the fines imposed by theFines imposed on Samuel S. Green for failures in his mail-contract to be remitted, and his accounts to be settled. Post-Office Department on Samuel S. Green, of New Orleans, while carrying the mail on route number three thousand five hundred and three, from New Orleans and other ports on the Gulf of Mexico, to Key West, and back, when he failed to depart from or arrive at any port named in his contract with the mails at precisely “schedule time,” be, and the same are hereby, remitted; and that the accounting officers of the treasury be,886THIRTY-SIXTH CONGRESS.
Sess. II. Ch. 51, 52, 53, 54, 55. 1861. and they are hereby, directed to settle his account, and allow the amount of said fines and the balance due him on his contract, and that the same be paid out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated. Approved, February 23, 1861.
