Chap. CXLVII.— An Act for the Relief of John Brannan.June 16, 1860. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he hereby is, directed, out of any money in the treasury notPayment to John Brannan for extra services as librarian. otherwise appropriated, to pay to John Brannan, an employee in the Department of State, the sum of two hundred and eighty dollars, in full for extra services as librarian in said department, from the fifteenth of September, eighteen hundred and fifty-eight, to the fifteenth of January, eighteen hundred and fifty-nine, being at the rate of four dollars per day, after deducting the pay received by him as an employee during said time.
