Chap. VII.— An Act *increasing the Pension of George W. Torrence.* Jan. 10, 1857. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That the pension allowed to Pension of Geo. W. Torrence to be increased to $40 per month. 1854, ch. 97. Vol. x. p. 785.George W. Torrence, by the act approved July seventeen, eighteen hundred and fifty-four, be increased to forty dollars per month, commencing from the date of the beginning of his present pension, in consideration of his great disability by reason of wounds received at the National Bridge, Mexico, on the ninth of September, eighteen hundred and forty-seven.
