Chap. CXI.— An Act *for the Relief of William Heine, Artist in the Japan Expedition.* June 7, 1858. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That there be paid, out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, to William Heine, artist William Heine to be paid at the rate of $1,800 per annum. Proviso.of the late Japan expedition under Commodore Perry, compensation at the rate of eighteen hundred dollars per annum during the time he was actually employed in such service: *Provided,* The amount already paid him its master’s mate on said expedition be deducted therefrom.
