Chap. XXX.— An Act to Erect at the Capital of the Nation an Equestrian Statue of Washington. Jan. 25, 1853. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled*, That the sum of fifty thousand$50,000 appropriated for an equestrian statue of George Washington. dollars is hereby appropriated, to enable the President of the United States to employ Clark Mills to erect, at the City of Washington, a colossal equestrian statue of George Washington, at such place on the public grounds in said city, as shall be designated by the President of the United States. Approved, January 25, 1853.
