Chap. CXXX.— An Act *granting a Penston to Elizabeth Monroe.* March 3, 1853. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That there be, and hereby is Elizabeth Monroe to have a pension.granted to Elizabeth Monroe, widow of Thomas J. C. Monroe, late of the army of the United States, for the space of five years, to commence from the first day of January, anno Domini, eighteen hundred and fifty-two, a pension, payable semi-annually, equal to one half the pay to which the said Thomas J.
C. Monroe was entitled at the time of his decease, to be paid out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated. Approved, March 3, 1853.
