CVII.— An Act *in addition to An Act to Promote the Progress of the Useful.*(*a*)(*a*)For previous acts and decisions see 1638; ch. 837; vol. i. pp. 109, 318; and 1848, ch. 47.August 30, 1852. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, * 1836, ch. 367.1839, ch. 68.That appeals providedAppeals from the decisions of the Com’r of Patents may be made to either of the Assistant Judges of the Circuit Court for Hits District of Columbia. for in the eleventh section of the act entitled An Act in addition to an act to promote the progress of the useful arts, approved March the third, eighteen hundred and thirty-nine, may also be made to either of the assistant judges of the Circuit Court of the District of Columbia, and all the powers, duties, and responsibilities imposed by the aforesaid act, and conferred upon the chief judge, are hereby imposed and conferred upon each of the said assistant judges.
Sec. 2. *And be it further enacted,* That in case appeals shall bePayment to the Judge for his services in appeal cases. made to the said chief judge, or to either of the said assistant judges, the Commissioner of Patents shall pay to such chief judge or assistant judge the sum of twenty-five dollars, required to be paid by the appellant into the Patent-Office by the eleventh section of the said act, on said appeal. 76 THIRTY-SECOND CONGRESS. Sess. I. Ch. 108. 1852. Sec. 3. Former provision for payment repealed.1839, ch. 88. *And be it further enacted,* That section thirteen of the aforesaid act, approved March the third, eighteen hundred and thirty-nine, is hereby repealed.
