Chap. CLXV.— An Act for the Relief of George W. Torrence. March 2, 1855. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, * That the Secretary of War be, Geo. W. Torrence to be paid $1,574 in full.and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay to George W. Torrence, out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of one thousand five hundred and seventy-four dollars, in full compensation for his gallant military services at the National Bridge, Mexico, on the ninth of September, eighteen hundred and forty-seven, and for extraordinary expenses incurred by him in consequence of wounds received by him in the United States service.
