Chap. CL.— An act authorising the Governor of the Territory of New Mexico to call an extra Session of the Legislative Assembly of said Territory, should the same be deemed necessary and expedient. March 3, 1853. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United Stales of America in Congress assembled*, Extra session of Legislative Assembly of New Mexico authorized. That the Governor of the Territory of New Mexico, should he deem the same necessary and expedient, be and he is hereby authorized and empowered to call one extra session of the Legislative Assembly of said Territory, not to exceed ninety days in duration, any thing to the contrary notwithstanding which may be contained in the act approved September ninth, eighteen hundred and fifty, 1850, ch. 49.entitled “An act proposing to the State of Texas the establishment of her northern and western boundaries, the relinquishment by said State of all territory claimed by her exterior to said boundaries, and of all her claims upon the United States, and to establish a Territorial Government for Provisos.New Mexico:” *Provided*, said extra session shall not be held during the sitting of any regular session of said Legislative Assembly: *And provided further*, That said extra session shall be held and concluded prior to the first Monday of December, eighteen hundred and fifty-three.
