Chap. CCX.— An Act *for the Relief of W. D. Porter, of the United States Navy.* Aug. 3, 1854. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That the Secretary of the The accounts of W. D. Porter, for certain moneys expended by him to be audited by Secretary of Navy and his warrant for sum not exceeding $2,024.32 to 00 drawn and paid.Navy be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to cause the accounts of W.
D. Porter, a lieutenant in the navy of the United States, for moneys actually expended by him in defraying the expenses of bringing Amin Bey and suite to the United States in conformity with the request of the Honorable George P. Marsh, the Minister of the United States at Constantinople, to be audited, and to draw his warrant upon the treasury of the United States for any sum not exceeding two thousand and twenty-four dollars and thirty-two cents, which may be found due to the said Porter: which shall be paid from the treasury out of any moneys not otherwise appropriated.
