XII.— An Act *in addition to the law of the United States, concerning Consuls and Vice Consuls.*July 6, 1797.Act of April 14, 1792. *Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,* That in case it beConsul at Algiers. found necessary, for the interest of the United States that a Consul be appointed to reside at Algiers; the President be authorized to allow him an annual salary not exceeding four thousand dollars. Approved, July 6, 1797.
