The Government Accountability Office is directed to report to the Committees on Appropriations of the House of Representatives and the Senate on the data collected by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) under section 6A of the Consumer Product Safety Act (15 U.S.C. 2055a) within 180 days of enactment of this division. This study shall include an analysis of:

## SEC. 1574 The Government Accountability Office is directed to report to the Committees on Appropriations of the House of Representatives and the Senate on the data collected by the Consumer Product Safety Commission

(CPSC)under section 6A of the Consumer Product Safety Act (15 U.S.C. 2055a) within 180 days of enactment of this division. This study shall include an analysis of: ####

(1)Whether the information submitted is required to be from first-hand knowledge. ####

(2)Whether the information required for submission of a complaint is sufficient to enable the CPSC, where appropriate, to investigate the facts surrounding the incident and determine the material accuracy of the report. ####

(3)Whether the information submitted to the database with respect to a product is sufficient to enable consumers, the CPSC, and manufacturers to identify such product. ####

(4)Whether the length of time before posting complaints is a reasonable timeframe for adjudicating pending claims of material inaccuracy.
