## SEC. 302 DEFINITIONS For purposes of this title: ####
(1)The term “**local educational agency**” means— #####
(A)any local educational agency as defined in section 8101 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965; #####
(B)the owner of any nonprofit elementary or secondary school building; and #####
(C)the governing authority of any school operated pursuant to section 6 of the Act of September 30, 1950 (64 Stat. 1107) or successor authority, as in effect before enactment of the Improving America's Schools Act of 199422 relating to impact aid for children who reside on Federal property. 22See sections 391(c)(4)(B) and 392(b)(2) of P.L. 103–382 (108 Stat. 4022 and 4026). ####
(2)The term “**nonprofit elementary or secondary school**” has the meaning given such term by section 202(8).23 23So in law. Should refer to section 202(9). ####
(3)The term “**radon**” means the radioactive gaseous element and its short-lived decay products produced by the disintegration of the element radium occurring in air, water, soil, or other media. ####
