## Sec. 323 care and treatment of federal prisoners27 **[**250**]** The Service shall supervise and furnish medical treatment and other necessary medical, psychiatric, and related technical and scientific services, authorized by the Act of May 13, 1930, as amended (U.S.C., 1940 edition, title 18, secs. 751, 752),28 in penal and correctional institutions of the United States. 27Title I of the Departments of Commerce, Justice, and State, the Judiciary, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2005 (as contained in division B of Public Law 108–447) provided that of the amounts appropriated for salaries and expenses regarding the Federal Prison System “the Attorney General may transfer to the Health Resources and Services Administration such amounts as may be necessary for direct expenditures by that Administration for medical relief for inmates of Federal penal and correctional institutions”.
