This includes officers serving as Chairman or Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Chief of Staff of the Army, Chief of Naval Operations, Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Commandant of the Marine Corps, Chief of Space Operations, Commandant of the Coast Guard, Chief of the National Guard Bureau, or commander of a unified or specified combatant command (as defined in section 161(c) of title 10, United States Code).2 Basic pay for officers in pay grades O-6 and below may not exceed the rate of pay for level V of the Executive Schedule.3 This table does not apply to commissioned officers in pay grade O-1, O-2, or O-3 who have been credited with over 4 years of active-duty service as an enlisted member or warrant officer. **Commissioned Officers With Over 4 Years of Active the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, or Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chief of the National Guard Bureau, basic pay for this grade is $10,758.00 per month, regardless of cumulative years of service under section 205 of title 37, United States Code. 3 In the case of members in pay grade E-1 who have served fewer than 4 months on active duty, the rate of basic pay is $2,144.10.
