## SEC. 509 REMOTE APPEARANCE BEFORE A BOARD OF INQUIRY ###
(a)Regular Officers Section 1185 of title 10, United States Code, is amended— ####
(1)in subsection (a)(3), by striking “shall be” and inserting “subject to subsection (c), shall be”; and ####
(2)by adding at the end the following new subsection: > > ### “(c) > > The Secretary concerned may determine that, in exceptional circumstances, the appearance of an officer before the proceedings of a board of inquiry may be via means other than in person.” > . ###
(b)Reserve Officers Section 14904 of title 10, United States Code, is amended— ####
(1)in subsection (a)(3), by striking “shall be” and inserting “subject to subsection (c), shall be”; and ####
(2)by adding at the end the following new subsection: > > ### “(c) Remote Appearance > > The Secretary concerned may determine that, in exceptional circumstances, the appearance of an officer before the proceedings of a board of inquiry may be via means other than in person.” > .
