## SEC. 1103 EXTENSION OF LIVING QUARTERS ALLOWANCE TO CIVILIAN DOD EMPLOYEES IN POSITIONS WITH CRITICAL SHORTAGES STATIONED IN GUAM Section 1102 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2024 (Public Law 118–31) is amended— ####
(1)in the section heading, by striking “department of the navy civilian employees assigned to permanent duty in guam for performing work, or supporting work being performed, aboard or dockside, of u.s. naval vessels” and inserting “civilian employees of the Department of Defense stationed in Guam”; ####
(2)in subsection (a), by striking “Secretary of the Navy” and inserting “Secretary of Defense”; and ####
(3)by striking subsection
(b)and inserting the following: > > ### “(b) Covered Employee Defined > > In this section, the term ‘covered employee’ means any civilian employee of the Department of Defense whose permanent duty station is located in Guam and who has been deemed by the Secretary of Defense to be employed in a position with critical shortages. > > > ### “(c) Sunset > > The authority under this section shall terminate on January 1, 2034.” > .
