## SEC. 770 **[**[42 U.S.C. 1758 note](/us/usc/t42/s1758)**]** Sodium limits in effect for School Year 2023-2024 in child nutrition meal patterns shall remain effective through School Year 2026-2027, after which sodium limits that may be included in any rulemaking, notice or guidance of or regarding USDA Proposed Rule (Child Nutrition Programs: Revisions to Meal Patterns Consistent With the 2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans; RIN 0584-AE88), shall not be more restrictive than the Target 2 sodium levels published in the final rule entitled “Nutrition Standards in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs” published by the Department of Agriculture in the Federal Register on January 26, 2012 (77 Fed. Reg 4087).
