## SEC. 127 ###
(a)The matter preceding the first proviso under the heading “Federal Payment to the District of Columbia Public Defender Service” in division B of Public Law 118-47 is amended by striking “, for costs associated with relocation under a replacement lease for headquarters offices, field offices, and related facilities”. ###
(b)####
(1)Subject to paragraph (2), subsection
(a)shall become effective immediately upon enactment of this Act. ####
(2)If this Act is enacted after September 30, 2024, subsection
(a)shall be applied as if it were in effect on September 30, 2024. ###
(c)Notwithstanding section 101, the matter preceding the first proviso under the heading “Federal Payment to the District of Columbia Public Defender Service” in division B of Public Law 118-47, as amended by subsection (a), shall be applied as if “, of which $3,000,000 shall remain available until September 30, 2026” were struck.
