## SEC. 383 MEMBERSHIP OF COAST GUARD ON JOINT SAFETY COUNCIL Section 184(b)(1) of title 10, United States Code, is amended— ####

(1)by redesignating subparagraph

(D)as subparagraph (E); and ####

(2)by inserting after subparagraph

(C)the following new subparagraph: > > ##### “(D) > > During periods in which the Coast Guard is not operating as a service in the Department of the Navy, an officer of the Coast Guard, appointed by the Secretary of Homeland Security.” > .
